Strike Photos & Mission Maps
Description
Mission maps, or track charts as they were often referred, were passed out to airmen during a pre-mission briefing. They commonly denoted the dog leg's course to the target, codewords for key parts of the mission, and major flak batteries that would be crossed en route. At the target, cameras mounted in each bomber took pictures of the bombing impact so accuracy of bombing could be assessed by HQ staff on base.
